Vi down hosts are still up (during debian install)

after running esxi for almost a year now ive hit a snag where I cannot install debian on the vm

for some reason the VI closes connection after I start the installation of debian (it actually disconnects after the ''checking system'')

now when i try to connect to the VI I get the following error : details: A connection failure accurred.

the vm's are still running but I cannot acces the VI anymore and hence cannot complete the debian install.

the only ''fix'' to get the VI running again is to go to the host and reboot the system.

but as soon as I redo the debian install it fails again and I loose connection of the VI again.

I can still ping the esxi server and it responds just fine it seems something chrases the VI but I have no idea what.

anyone has an idea how to resurect the vi without rebooting or knows why this failure occurs ?

Which version of Debian are you trying to install?

Are you using 32 or 64 bit architecture?

Sorry, no idea for you problem.

If Ubuntu works, could be a problem in hardware detection of Debian installer.

I think i'm gong to upgrade the 3.5 to 4 this weekend and see if the problem has been solved.

The problem probably lies in the detection procces of ubuntu and my hardware (thats my closest ques as wel)

i'll keep you guys posted if esxi 4 will solve this.
