VMesxi 3.5 Lun Mapping Issue

Hi, All

I have one vmesxi 3.5 with two EMulex LP10000 HBA installed for connecting one EXC CX300 storage via two EMC switches.

~ # esxcfg-vmhbadevs -a

vmhba1:0:0 /vmfs/devices/disks/vmhba1:0:0:0

vmhba1:1:0 /vmfs/devices/disks/vmhba1:1:0:0

vmhba2:0:0 /vmfs/devices/disks/vml.0200000000600601608d311900d075d16a6baedf11524149442031

I List all vmhba mappingas above. The Lun on vmhba2:0:0 is as follows.

/vmfs/devices/disks/vml.0200000000600601608d311900d075d16a6baedf11524149442031

==>

0200000000-- 600601608d311900d075d16a6baedf11--524149442031

I found 600601608d311900d075d16a6baedf11 is EMC LUN UUID.

My question is what 0200000000 and 524149442031 mean.

Hi

Here is a good explanation regarding your question

Summary:

vhhba#:Target:LUN:Partition -> vml:??_LUN_??_GUID:Partition

LUN GUID PARTITION

^ ^ ^ vmhba0:1:0:0 -> vml.02000000005005076719d163d844544e313436 vmhba0:1:0:1 -> vml.02000000005005076719d163d844544e313436:1 vmhba32:1:3:0 -> vml.0200030000600144f07ed404000000496ff8cd0003434f4d535441 vmhba32:1:3:1 -> vml.0200030000600144f07ed404000000496ff8cd0003434f4d535441:1

Please award points if this was helpfull
