VMDK file Missed in Local storage

Hi Guys,

I have using VSphere 4.0 host, recently I faced problem in VMDK file missed in local storage.

If there any possible way restore VMDK file ?

VMDK is made up of two files the .vmdk and -flat.vmdk. You can you browse datastore and see if -flat.vmdk is still there? if yes you can easily rebuilt the .vmdk.  if the above is not there, then you can declare total lost of the VMDK unless you have a backup.

Is it possible that the VMDK is simply in a different location to the one you are looking?

Open the .vmx file - you'll be able to find the vmdk location from there.

also, speak to your storage team, perhaps you have some sort of duplication on the DS and can recover an old copy (not likely . . but you never know)
