VM Keeps Stopping: Configuration file for VM cannot be found

I have several hosts with ESXi u4 (build 176894) and the vServer 2.5 u5. One of my VMs keeps failing, while the others are fine. I can VMotion it and use it without issue until it suddenly stops. The OS logs show nothing, but the VMware log does say:

Info: Configuration file for <VM> on <host> in <data centre> cannot be found.

The VM then shows up as inaccessible in inventory view for a short time. Then returns, powered off. This seems to happen at random, sometimes within 30 minutes of booting the VM, sometimes after several hours.

Other VMs on this host aren't affected and starting the VM on another host makes no difference.

The VM is running RHEL 4.7 and has VMware tools installed. The VM is using the same datastore as other VMs that don't have this issue, so the storage is working.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Seems to be a connectivity issue to a particular data store. If I learn anything useful in the general case I'll post it here.

This was confirmed as a switch trunking issue. Since that was fixed everything has been solid.
