Using host VLAN in ESXi 4.0

Hi.

Sorry by posting in 3.5, could not find any forum for 4.0.

I wounder how I can use VLAN in a host environment. I don't want to make virtual interfaces in ESXi for each VLAN i want to use, I want to use VLAN directly in the host but it does not seems to work.

Any idéas?

Best regards rancor

Here is 4.0 forum: http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/vsphere

What exactly do you want - to see all VLANs? Create portgroup with VLAN 4095 - traffic from all VLANs will go to this portgroup.

Hi,

I want to create a OpenBSD firewall cluster in VMWare ESXi where I will use VLAN on the interfaces of OpenBSD. It works then I taggs the VLAN as virtual adapters in ESXi but then I tries to add VLAN from OpenBSD to a virtual adapter it does not work. It's like VMWare is filtering or removing the VLAN taggs of the ethernet frames from the guest OS.
