Update Esxi 3.5.0 (110271) to Update 5

Hi Guys,

I got Esxi 3.5.0 build 110271, I assume it is update 2 (Am I right?) and now I want update my host to update 5.

So my question is, do I have to update step by step (U2->U3->U4->U5) or I can update straight to U5?

Thanks for any ideas.

110271 is U2. You do not have to perform incremental update, you can go to U5 directly.

Thanks for your answer. One more thing, I'm trying Scan for updates for my host but got error during Scan for updates:

may try redownloading patches, or

ensuring the network connectivity and

DNS beween VMware vCenter Update

Manager and host are setup correctly.

Check host agent, vpxa and esxupdate

logs for details.

Checked DNS settings, tested network settings on host, what else I can check to fixproblem?

I'm assuming you're using Update Manager. This error is telling you the patches are not found in the patch repository.

Yes, I am. My patch repository sits in other domain, but I have got connectivity to it.

Furthermore, I can see these updates in repository and can update my other ESX 3.50 hosts, but not this one.

So now I'm going to use VmWare Infrastructure Update, hope it will let me update host.
