How ever I do not get this error on my IE 7

Are you running ESXi? Last I checked, ESXi did not have a browser interface for virtual machines...

This thread seems to be a little bit old... but I had the same problem with my VMware server 2.0.1 under Ubuntu 9.04 64 bits. It came from my Firefox plug-in (VMware Remote Console Plug-in) : I had to uninstall it, restart Firefox, re-install the plug-in, restart Firefox once again, then it succeeded in opening my VM consoles again.

I have this problem after I upgraded to Firefox 3.6

When I removed it and reinstall the 3.5.7, everything works fine now.

So it should be the plug in incompatible with the updated firefox.

Suggest not to update the firefox until it has been solved.

The same problem in FF 3.6 and IE 8.

But everything were working fine just few day ago..
