Space allocation in VMs

Guys,

I'm facing a big problem here.. I've been using vmware server 1 (trial) and 2 and I was able to avoid the disk space pre-allocation, so that I filled the physical disk as I filled the virtual one.

Now I've migrated to ESXi and I can't find a way of avoiding pre-allocation.. Does anybody know a workaround?

Read "Supported Disk Formats": http://pubs.vmware.com/vi35/server_config/sc_appb.21.5.html

These are supported in ESX, but I don't know how to create them under ESXi (because of the lack of the console). If it is supported at all....
