Small ESXi San

I have a small SAN setup 2 servers with san attached disk.

I want to run ESXi on both of the servers (ESX 3.5 NOT an option at this point) with the san disk formated as VMFS.

is there a way to backup the Vmware guests as a complete image? I can load individual agents to back each up but restoring a complete image sometimes is just faster.

I was hoping to perform a snapshot backup the main file then delete the snapshot. Consolidated backup is not an option either.

Could I somehow have the ESXi box NFS mount up disk outside of the san then script it to copy the image files to the mounted location?

Thanks

Take a look at William's scripts - http://communities.vmware.com//people/lamw

The scripts will take a snapshot on the VMs and run a complete backup of the VMDK files for the VM. You can mount an NFS share as a datastore within ESXi and use that as your backup destination. You could then also run the VMs from that share if you needed to.

In looking at the scripts it would appear that this will do the job. Thanks
