SAN Boot ESXi... Can it be done?

I have a test box with 5 drives of 146GB . This box is fibre attached, so i was hoping to SAN boot it and use the drives for the data...

I have the SAN configuration guide, but for some reason ESXi won't see the volume.

Can it be done on ESXi?

Thanks,

Lance

it's not supported: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi35_san_guide.pdf

and there isn't a point in doing that when you can run esxi from a usb stick, saves you expensive diskspace.

So, just put the USB Drive in the server and run the install?

Well, that didn't work.... server can't see the USB drive even though I can see it in the bios..
