Registering ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0

Hi,

I just installed VMware ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0 and then the VMware

Infrastructure Client on another computer to control it. When I logged on using

the Infrastructure Client it says I have 54 days remain.

I'm not sure if this refers to the Infrastructure Client or to the ESX

server. I thought both products where available for free?

If it's the ESX server how do I register the dam thing? I'm sure it’s really

simple I just can't find the option.

Does anyone have a simple tutorial for setting up and managing ESX Server?

ESXi will be in eval until you registered for your free license, I believe you can get that information at: http://vmware.com/support/licensing.html

Once you've received your license key, login using your VI Client and go to configurations->licensed features and add the license key.

When you downloaded the ISO file for ESX 3i you would have had to haved logged in and you would have been sent a licence file. Through your VI client you can go to the licence under the configuration option and naviagte to your license file.
