Realtek TRL8168 GbE & FE Ethernet PCI-E network on ESXi 3.5 Update 3

Is the Realtek TRL8168 GbE & FE Ethernet PCI-E network controller family supported by ESXi 3.5 Update 3 ? Even if it is not officially supported, has anyone been able to get it working straight from booting the original ESXi 3.5 U3 ISO ? If not, has anyone been successful in modifying the oem.tgz in order to get it to work ? Thank you.

ESX(i) doesn't ship with a realtek driver so it would be a matter of someone compiling the driver to work with ESX(i). If you'd like to see support for it, I'd suggest a post here - http://communities.vmware.com/message/947521#947521.
