RHEL-5 not booting in ESXi

Hi Everyone,

I have installed ESXi update2 server on Dell PE 2950 and installed Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 VM. The installation is successful but I am not able to boot the machine after the successful compeletion of the installation process. I have tried that same on another hardware but still same results.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Did you install 32 or 64bit RHEL? If 64 - you should set "Operating system" to "RHEL 5 64bit" for VM and enable VT in BIOS for host.

Please see attached screenshots. Once I boot the VM, after the BIOS screen nothing happens and all I see is a blank screen. I have waited for hours on this screen but nothing happens.

Screen1.jpg = BIOS

Screen2.jpg = Blank Screen.

I am sorry but can you please let me know what do you mean by LiveCD?

LiveCD is a specially created CD to boot from and work. Most linux distros have such CDs/DVDs combined with installation.

You can use Knoppix for example.
