No storage after downgrade from ESXi 4.1

Hi everyone,

I seem to be in a pickle (always wanted to say that), I had upgraded our ESXi 3.5 server to 4.1 and lost the abililty to access our tape backup. Unfortunatly our server doesn't support VMDirect Path (5450 Processor, not 5500+) and I have to downgrade back to 3.5.

After searching I hadn't found much so here's what I booted with ESX 3.5 Update 5 full CD and selected Repair. After it repaired my ESX 4.1 server (downgraded to 3.5 update 5) it booted without any issues; but there was nothing under Storage and it was in Audit mode.

I tried changes the LVM keys too without any luck.

So, VMWare 3.5 sees my old paritiions but doesn't mount it, so I can't browse and add the VM's back. The VM's are in HW format version 4.

Any suggestions aside from moving the data off my ESX server and installing a fresh copy of ESXi 3.5?

Thanks in advance, any suggestions are MUCH appriciated!

You have to resign the VMFS volume:
