No OEM Policy File exists

Hi All,

I had a Host "Not responding" in VC this morning and i'm unable to get it connected. Seems like an issue with the management agents as both the Host and the VMs are responding to ping. When I open the console through DRAC I see repeated messages as shown below :

startng sfcbd

stopping sfcbd

NO OEM Policy File Exists

CIM OEM Providers are disabled

I know I can restart the agents through console but noting appears but the above message so can't restart the agents through it.

Can somebody let me know what the issue might be and ofcourse how to fix it ??

We don't have ssh enabled but have RCLi and VI Toolkit installed.

This message is not really a problem - it simply indicates that you have not got the OEM CIM providers installed(so you are using a vanilla ESX, rather than a custom HP or Dell one)

If you are using the Dell version and of course using the CIM providers for monitoring then it could mean that the providers got corrupted - did you try just restarting the agents?

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
