Is it necessary for the esx server nics to see the observed IP ranges? my vmkernel where i connect to my nfs datastore works fine, but my vmswitch does not work at all.
The observed IP range is based on broadcast traffic so it may not always be accurate and it does not limit which IP addresses you can use in your VMs. However, lack of any data might indicate an issue like incorrect VLAN setup, a bad NIC, etc.
