Native VLAN setting on physical switch

Presently,

switch ports are set to native vlan 1

using VLANs 2151 - 2160

trunking across an 802.1q trunk from a cisco catlyst 3750.

my vm guru tells me the native vlan must be set to the vlan that the service console is using, in this case, 2160.

my understanding is that in doing so, 2160 will no longer be tagged and the communication is then native.

I'm curious, is this just a necessary config for ESXi? (in our case 3.5)? a limitation of the service console? a bug?

Hi,

is not necesary to change the default Vlan for the service console, and i don't know a reason to do that.
