Moving vmdk files using USB2.0 on ESXi Server

Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to move a 100GB vmdk file from ESXi 3.5 update3 server to an external hard drive.

The only way to do this would be to create a VMFS3 filesystem on the external drive, in which case you could only use it on ESX(i) machines. I'm not even sure you can create a VMFS3 filesystem on an external USB drive, but I think it's possible...
