Maintenance mode issue

what all i can and can't do in the ESXi Maintenance mode .. Could be possible send me the doc or web link on it .. Thanks

Basically, when you enter into maintenance mode, the virtualization services are no longer offered.

That's why, before going into maintenance mode, VMware introduces you to several warning messages, and when possible (VMotion), evacuate all VMs on that server that this instance.

It make sense for a cluster where could be used to free a node.

With a standalone host it is necessary for apply patch, but it require a manual shutdown of all VMs.
