LSI SAS3041E-R SAS/SATA Raid Controller

The PCI-X version is on the official HCL but the one listed above is PCIe and is not. They are both the same, just different interfaces. Has anyone used this controller or know if works with ESXi U3? There are no processor or memory specs listed for this controller so I assume its fakeraid. Can anyone confirm?

LSI controllers are not usually fake RAID controllers - those are usually true RAID controllers. Also, if the PCI-X version of the RAID controller is listed, it's quite likely that the PCIe version will also work.

I just looked at the HCL again and this one was listed. Thanks for the response. Yea, I couldn't imagine that it would be a fakeraid.
