Hi,
I have a problem with NICs on a Windows Server 2003 VM.
I created the VM with 3 Nics and it worked correctly.
Then I decided to remove one NIC but something strange happened. Let's give an example to explain the isuue.
Let's say that that the IP Address of the 3 NICs are:
NIC 1: 192.168.1.100
NIC 2: 192.168.1.101
NIC 3: 192.168.1.102
If I remove the NIC 2 the new IP address are:
NIC 1: 192.168.1.100
NIC 3: 192.168.1.101
So the NIC 3 now has the IP of the NIC 2 and not is true IP (192.168.1.102)!!
How you can imaginate, this casued a lot of networking issues for my VM!!
Has someone got the same problem?? How Can I solve it? Why VMWare has this strange behaviour?
Thanks
Giuseppe
Do you have static IP assigned to NICs?
Regard
hhmz
Yes I have static IPs
You want tell that if you entered IP in TCP/IP network configuration ESXi changed IP when you removed network adapter. This is really strange.
Do you have vmware tools up to date?
..maybe same virus
regards
Yes,
to be more clear it seems that WMware "shifts" and reassigns the IP Addresses like I described in the example..
VMware tools are updated.
