Is this PC useful as an ESXi 3.5 server?

I am trying to install ESXi 3.5 on this PC. Unfortunately, I have run into the "failed to find device to write to" problem and before I spend more effort on the problem I would like to know if the PC can provide a viable service. It has a 3G P4 and 3G or RAM. This is not for production purposes, more as a home server that I can learn on.

Cheers, Des

Des,

A better way of verifying is to look at VMware's hardware compatibility guide for the release you intend to install!

I think ESX needs to be able to write to a SCSI disk.

Has that PC got an IDE hard disk controller.
