Is Microsoft SQL Server Database bundled with VMWARE Virtual Center Server Software

Hi,

I am in a process of buying licence of ESX 3.5 and VC Server.

I know that for installing VC Server we require MS SQL Database or Oracle Database.

Please let me know that will this database come with VC Server software bundle.

Or we have to buy MS SQL license seperatly?

Please help me in this regard.

The vCenter download includes Microsoft's free product, MSSQL Express.

If you are happy with its limitations then you have no issues. If you want to use Microsoft SQL 2005, you must purchase it.

SQL Express 2005 (the bundled version in VC media installation) is free.

So you can use it (for small environment) without additional costs.

Cause VC store a lot of date: host and VM inventory, log, permission, statistical data, ...
