Is ESXi 3.5 Compatible With All Dell PowerEdge 2950s?

I'm a bit confused as to whether or not my server is compatible with ESXi 3.5. It seems like other people are using these servers with it, and when I reviewed the HCL, it does list the 2950. However, I found a footnote that states the following:

"The Intel Xeon 5100, 5300 and 7100 series of processors, and the AMD 2000/8000 series of processors are not supported with any of the listed servers unless explicitly footnoted."

Our server has dual Intel Xeon 5160 CPUs installed, so am I out of luck? What are the implications of installing it anyways if the processors aren't fully compatible?

It will most likely work, it probably just hasn't been completely verified by VMware, so they're making no claims as to what level of service you'll get out of these processors. I can't imagine that it will make that big a difference, though.
