I have created bootable cd but at the time of booting I am getting error as "Unable to find a supported device to write the Vmware 3i 3.5.0 image to".

Can you help me out for this.

Thanks.

Do you have a system or PCI card working with VMDirectPath? Submit your specs to the Unofficial VMDirectPath HCL - http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=21.

Could you double check the device id? I don't see it on the list for 3.5 or 4.

Hi Dave,

Thank for your response.

Finally I installed Esxi, however after installation its booting with Esxi.

But I was expecting this to boot with normal window vista with Esxi as an application.

Can you share your experience what mistake I have done.

Thanks

ESXi is an OS, not an application

Hi mickey,

Thanks for ur response.

In my another system I have installed window as well as linux, I can use both OS.

At the time of boot it asks for particuler OS to boot.

But in Esxi case I am not getting any other options, it automatically starts boot from Esxi.

Might have not done partition accordingly, so I thinl I overwritten on my original Vista OS.

can I modify partion now..?

Thanks..

ESXi is will replace any existing data on the hard drive. It doesn't have an interface like windows or linux. Once installed you need to manage it form another computer. You add additional operating systems to ESXi. Once an operating system installed in ESXi it runs inside ESXi. You can have multiple operating systems running at the same time including Windows and Linux. Your previous OS's have been overwritten.
