Import Virtual Disk From ESX2.5.x to ESX 3.5 saying Inconsistent

Hi,

I'm trying to take a virtual hard disk from an ESX2.5 virtual machine and import it into a ESX3.5 server which I've done fine in the past.

I copy the file to a Linux server via NFS then either copy the VMDK to the ESX3.5 server and use vmkfstool -i source.vmdk destination.vmdk

Everything copies fine and imports Ok

When I try to attach the new HDD to a VM it gives me the error in Virtual Center

"Internal problem: The system information reported by the host for 'VirtualDisk' is inconsistent. This device cannot currently be edited"

Has anyone seen this problem before? Does the VMDk need like a windows equivalent of chkdsk?

Regards

Dave
