I increased memory to 8GB on a (Windows 2000Advanced )Virtual machine.But the Os is not detecting 8Gb RAM

I increased memory to 8GB on a (Windows 2000Advanced )Virtual machine.But the Os is not detecting 8Gb RAM , it is still showing 4Gb RAM.I tried adding /3GB switch on boot.ini file.but it is of no use.Please can any one giv a solution for this?

You need to enable PAE, as per MS KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/268363
