How to build vmkernel?

From VMware website , I get one package named VMware-esx-server-public-source-3.5.0-82663.tar.gz

I guess this is vmkernel source code.

But I failed to compile it according to its README.

Do you succeed to compile it?

the tar actually contains a cd image that you will need to boot from and install ESX - vmkernel is a proriatary o/s written by vmware used by the ESX server - it is not open source so you will not get the source code -
