I've checked the bios on the server and it supports USB boot and it sees it, but when I go through the install ESXi says there is no supported disk volume...
Any ideas?

(I ran into an error when i tried to copy the image with winimage in Vista, with XP it worked)
You can also do it in Linux with the "dd" command after you get the .dd image extracted.
dd if=<dd file> of=/dev/<usb drive>
