Host can see the nic, but no connection to the network

Hallo,

i have a ...

  • Supermicro-Server (2x XEON-Quad-Core 16MB Ram)

  • ESXi 3.5.0 110271

  • 2x NIC 80003ES2LAN Gigabit Ethernet Controller

  • Hosts: Debian Etch, Debian Lenny, Windows XP Prof SP2

VI shows => Configuration => Networking:

  • Virtual Switch vSwitch0 (vmnic1 100 Full)

    • 1x VMkernel Port

      • Management Network

    • Virtual Machine Port Group

      • VM Network with 2x Debian Etch and 1x Debian Lenny

  • Virtual Switch vSwitch1 ((vmnic0 100 Full)

    • Virtual Machine Port Group

      • Virtual Machine Network wIth 1x Debian Lenny and 1x Win XP Prof SP2

Last week theres a electrical power outage (all hardware on an UPS/USV and overvoltage protection), the guests on >>Virtual Switch vSwitch1 ((vmnic0 100 Full)<< cant connect to the network.. If i change the network-cable only the vmnic0 cant connect.

If i move the guests to vmnic1, all work fine.

All guests can see the networkcard (vmnic0), but no connection with static IP oder DHCP.

What can be wrong? I dont change any settings.

anyone have an idea?

Please check the pNIC (Physical NIC) on the diffrent system, as you mentioned that there was unexpected power outage, it might be caused a faulty on the NIC.
