Host Mode setting for VCB server on an MSA 1500cs

Could someone please provide a link for documentation or share real life experience as to which "Host Mode" (or Profile) to assign to the Windows 2003 VCB server when presenting it with ESX LUNs (ESX servers are using "Linux" for the Host Mode) that are on an HP MSA 1500cs?

I see that VMware suggests using the same host mode settings for the VCB server as the ESX server according to however, I see that HP recommends setting VCB to Windows host profile mode at least for the EVA SAN series according to

Setting the host mode to 'Linux' in the Array Configuration Utility when presenting the VCB with the VMware LUNs situated on an MSA1500cs seems to work just fine. I did not try the 'Windows' host mode. I was unable to get a definitative answer from either HP or VMware regarding the correct settings for the MSA SANs.
