Failed Hard drive that ESXi 3.5 host installed on.

The hard drive that my ESXi 3.5 U3 host is installed on has failed. When the replacement drive arrives I plan on installing ESXi 3.4 U4 on it. All of my guest VM's are installed on a separate second hard drive. Will the new install of ESXi see the old guest VM's or will I have to rebuild them as new?

You should be able to import them.

Browse the datastore to the .vmx file , right click and add to inventory

You shouldn't have a problem as long as the vms are on a different partiton. You may have to re-register the vms.
