Error while trying to install ESXi 3.5.0

Although i know that HP DL180G5 is not supported (at least is not on the HCL), i'm having a weird problem.

After starting installation, it says that can't find a supported device to write, although there is a P400 Card with the HD attached,

The specs: DL180 G5, 2xE5420, 16Gb RAM, P400 512, ilo Card.

Boot by CD: Error not finding device to write

System Information

Manufacturer: HP

Model: Proliant DL180 G5

Service TAG: GB8917NY5F

Bios Rev: 019

Any ideas?

That may be too big of a volume for ESXi. Can you break it up to make the volume under 2 TB?

Just for checkup, i've got 2 DL380 G5 and a DL320s, and they work flawlessly, with the same controller. That's why i'm so lost.

All the problems (at least almost all)i've got from DL180 G5 is AFTER installation, not during.

How many and which drives did you inserted?

Did you place them in correct bays?

Did you enter ORCA /or ACU and created logical drives?

Hmm... Keeping in mind that DL180G5 is entry-level server, and its architecture "is not quite standard".... try to reseat P400 in other PCIe slot...

That may be too big of a volume for ESXi. Can you break it up to make the volume under 2 TB?
