Were you using an evaluation key before or a free ESXi license?

I've been using a free license for about the last 2 years.

I re-downloaded the iso installer about 6 weeks ago, but only now did I go looking for the key.

It looks support for 3.5 has disappeared, but I really need a key !

Is it not there in your My VMware portal? if you have a free ESXi then the key will be there in your MYVMware portal. So you are using ESXi 3.5?

i don't think you can register for 3.5 free ESXi anymore. You can get only 4.1 free license.

That could be a problem, I don't think 4.1 supports 32bit hardware....

And the portal does not show the old Lic, it just givea a link to view but this takes me to the 4.1 page...

hi scottmk1,

have you found a solution or a workaround? I have the same problem and the vmware support team can't help:

"...

I would like to inform you that as informed in earlier email that ESX 4.X and prior versions have already reached end of availability on 2013/08/15.

Hence, the system can no longer issue license for ESX 3.5.0 Update_5.

If the issue is resolved please confirm the closure of the Support Request No. 13407992611.

..."

thanks
