ESXi Eval not seeing all available disk space

I am running a 60 day eval copy of the VMware Infrastructure Foundation Acceleration Kit. I have a Dell server (2950) with an internal RAID of 4.55 TB and a fibre channel SAN with 12.73 TB. When I run the add storage wizard, it only allows me to see 558 GB of the internal storage and only 750 GB of the SAN.

Does the eval version limit the disk space that can be used? Will I see all available disk space on my storage systems after the product is registered?

If the problem is not a limited eval issue, what could be causing this?

Thanks for any help on this,

Frank Rogers

There is a 2TB limit. This isn't just an eval limit. You will need to split the localstore.

The largest LUN ESX can access is 2TB. If you need a VMFS volume bigger then that you need to create multiple LUNs and span the VMFS volume over it.

Given that you are seeing 558GB and 750GB we know you can see your storage, you just need to reconfigure it so it is presented in small LUNs.

The 558gb that you do see, it 4.55TB - 2TB - 2TB which is an interesting feature.
