Ok, this topic has probably already been discussed so if so, my apologies in advance.... I just can't seem to find the discussion thread if it HAS been beat up.
I have ESXi 3.5 installed on a clients Dell Power Edge 2950. The box has been running rock solid, but I've run out of physical resources so they have purchased a new server.
I just deployed the latest version of 4.0 for them and am suggesting that they upgrade the original install from 3.5 to 4.0. As administrator, I get two systems on a common platform for easier management.
The client asks a simple question, "Why should we upgrade to 4.0? What are we going to get?"..... Mighty fine question. Other than the administrative reason I just listed, can someone answer this
What are the differences between 3.5 and 4.0? Is there are valid reason to move this direction?
Thanks all.
Hello and welcome to the forums.
The What's New in VMware vSphere 4 Performance Enhancements White Paper and What's New in VMware vSphere 4.0 both contain a multitude of reasons. It's up to you to find the ones that will justify it for the client. ![]()
