Hi,
I want to install VM Hypervisor ESXi 3.5 at home on a Proliant ML150. The
problem is that install starts but it can't "write to any device", ie can't recognize the storage
adaptor. It is an Adaptec 2010s (0 channel raid 5) & it's not on the
HCL. Does someone have an oem.tgz file that would work ?
Alternatively I am thinking of getting an LSI ultra320 320-0 (raid 5 0 channel), but I'm
not 100% sure if it's supported. The HCL isn't specific enough on LSI megraid.
Cheers
Dennis
Hi,
If I install an IDE drive in the server as a boot drive & have the raid array as extra storage, can I install ESXi ?
Will I then be able to create VMs and place them on the raid array or will it still be inaccessible ?
Thanks
bozz
If the chipset of the IDE controler is HCL you can install ESX(i) far as I know on the IDE HD.
The non-HCL adaptor will not work if you would ask me.
I do know that certain websites have drivers usable with ESX(i) so I suggest a google serach or search within this forum for websites hosting custom ESX(i) compatible drivers.
