Ok,
If I have one of my ESXi vms set to use an ISO image sitting on my ESXi server, they cannot boot from that image. This is after I hit "ESC" during startup in order to change to CD-ROM to boot. I this a known issue, or am I just doing something wrong? If I have the vms use an ISO sitting on my desktop (using Infrastructure Client) it works fine.
Or the even more simple answer, make sure I have connect at power on checked.
OK, yeah! But some things we take for granted..haha..
2 possible issues. Either the ISO file name is too long (rename it to something real simple like Win2k8.iso) and leave out the spaces. Or its a permssion issue.
go to the console and type: chown 777 (iso_file_name). That will allow you to access it.

AH! I didn't notice that little check box either. I have screwed around with this for a couple days trying to get it to work.
