ESXI and Asus P5E WS Professional with a LSI Logic MegaRAID 150 seems to hang during installation

Now March 2, 2009 all works fine.

I used U2 version and not the U3 version and that did the track, all running fine !!! Now the next goal is to goto Ux version of upgrades.

Thanks to all for the help !!!!

At the momment I'm working on a Asus P5E WS Professional with a LSI Logic MegaRAID 150 and an Intel PRO/1000 MT Server Adapter card.

The Installation of VMware ESXi is done from an USB stick also I have used the build in SATA CD-ROM drive.

Problem:

After the start of the VMware ESXi installation I have to go further by pressing but the system seems to hang.

When removing the LSI and the Intel cards same error, any help is welcome.

Also I have looked at the following forums:

VMware EXSi (Hardware Compatibility List) HCL

Ultimate ESX Whitebox

VMware Communities

Unofficial VMware ESX Server Whitebox HCL and

Planet VMware

Note: Firmware: Asus 0803 and LSI 713S the latest firmware

ESXi: VMware ESX Server 3i U3 Version 3.5 Update 3 - 123629 - 11/06/08

Any help is welcome, please respond via e-mail:

first, look in installation logs.

in esx it is in /root/install.log but I am on my phone. check the esxi install guide. report any funny errors in the log

next search my blog for usb boot, I successfully have booted esxi from a usb drive. that will tell us if it is a controller problem. this works on most motherboards.
