ESXI 4.0 Nic goes down

I have been running ESXI 4.0 for a few months now and have really grown fond of it. I was running it with on Nic (Intel PWLA8391GT - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106123) and it was running like a champ. I decided to add a second Nic (Intel EXPI9301CTBLK - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106033) after seeing it was on the white box list at http://vm-help.com/esx40i/esx40_whitebox_HCL.php.

I am running ESXI 4 build 244038 the problem is the second Nic (Intel EXPI9301CTBLK) goes down every few hours. The only way to get the Nic to come back up is a full machine reboot, but 3 or so hours later the Nic goes down again.

Have you checked the BIOS settings to see if there is a setting disabling the NIC if there is a period of inactivity?

I was thinking that could be it, but my bios only lets me lets me set an ACPI suspend state (i tried both options S1 and S3) same results of Nic going down. Is their anyway to diable ACPI in ESXI having it over ride the BIOS? Is that even possible?
