ESX3i Host Restarts when powering on a Mandriva VM

I am currently experiencing an issue with an ESX3i host with the following spec restarting when powering on a VM

IBM x3650 7979BJG.

BIOS tested1.12 and now .14

RAID 8K BIOS tested 15421 and now 15427

The same issue happens with esx3i update 3 and update 4.

I have an identical machine (or so i think) running the exact same VM on another box without any issues.

I have run an extended diagnostic test on all the hardware components on the server which have all passed.

Any ideas? anyone had any similar issues?

Trying to install Mandriva fails, trying to power on the VM sometimes works, sometimes the VM restarts, sometimes it gets to the login screen then the host restarts and when it comes back up the VM has unregistered itself.

XP and 2003 was initially installed on the box and these dont appear to have had the same issues. Although if the Mandriva machine started up it would power these off not sure if that was

Looks like memory problem. Run memtest on this server to check memory.

Sometimes you have to call VMware support, some questions just can be answered on forums.

Can't help you, sorry.

Unfortunately Mandriva is NOT supported in VM into ESX.

I've got a similar problem with the open version of VMware Tools. Which version are you using?
