I have searched to see how well ESX runs on this type of hardware, but I can't anyone that has posted. This Dell system I am looking at is a single 64 bit processor with options for the Dell PERC controller and up to 18 or more gigs of ram. I was wodering if any has purchased this machine for a lab type setup. I plan on purchasing this for home and was hoping to run about 10 or more virtual win servers/xp desktops to perform tests on different setups. So, has anyone tried to run to run about 10 or more Win 2003 servers with about 512Mb ram each? This test network won't be doing a whole lot, so I don't need to beef up the vm machines beyound 512mb ram.
