Dell 1900 - Iomega REV tape drive SATA

I have a VM ESXi server loaded up with a few 2003 and 2008 vm's

I need to connect an internal (to the esxi server) Iomega Rev SATA drive, connected to one of the onboard sata ports.

None of the other onboard sata ports are used.

How do I connect this SATA Tape Drive to one of the VM hosts?

You can try using the Add Hardware wizard of the vmkfstools command to pass it through, but as far as I know SCSI devices are the only devices that can be passed through, and SATA != SCSI. I've not been able to pass a SATA drive through to a VM.
