Hello guys,
I am in a bit of a sticky here.
We have a HP ML350 with 4 146GB SAS drives configured in Raid5 as a datastore. Well, disaster struck and one of the drives in the array failed.
We slided in a new drive and the rebuild finished, but after booting ESXi 3.5 the datasore that was on this drive previously is gone. (read not displayed in the storage section of the Infrastructure client). I can not find a way to add this datastore again without destroying the disk.
Like I say, the drive that failed was part of a Raid5 array and it was recovered and it's back on line.
I can also see the SCSI target in the Storage Adapters list.
Any idea how I go about re-adding this datasore to the ESXi config without destroying the VM's in the datastore?
Thank you in advance.

Hmm. Anyone?
Try the resignaturing options - page 118 - http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35u2/vi3_35_25_u2_iscsi_san_cfg.pdf.
So if you browse the datastore, it shows up empty?
And do you see any files or folders in the datastore?
Thank you. you're a life saver. i had exactly the same problem and this sorted it out, thank you very much.
