What's the best way to shutdown ESX 3.5 server without corruption of configuration files?
That's the question for today
I don't do that often , but I think it is something like: shutdown /h (for halt) /r (reboot) /now (if you don't want a timeout).
Ofcourse, make sure all you VM's are either powered off, or moved to another host.
The best way is to migrate its VM on an other host and to shutdown it via VC (right click -> shutdown) or via console : shutdown -h now
Hi,
<poweroff> also works and is powering off the server afterwards.
