Backup of virtual servers esx3.5i standalone (2)

hi guys

i have 2 standalone 3.5 esxi servers, not being backed up.

i would like to back these vm's up. how can i using something free?? dont want to lookin into the likes of vranger etc....

been looking at esxi4.0 looks good, also the backup with de-dup etc looks good,

do you think its worth upgrading - ? but even then i would like to have backed them up in esx3.5i if it goes pear shape??

what are you guys using to backup vm's from standalone esxi?

I have used this script for some time. http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8760

Although I also use VDR the ghettoVCB script is perfect for many VMs.

If you have supported hardware I think it is well worth upgrading to ESXi 4.

Hi,

For backup of the VM's you can use VMware consolidated backup 1.0. It works well.
