Hi,
I've noticed that for long disk read or write operations, ESXi seems to provide two speeds. The operations seem to start at a lower rate, but be "turbo'd" up to a higher rate after some period of intense activity, seemingly about 5 minutes. Please see the attached disk performance trace. Guest in this case was formatting an 80GB virtual disk.
Is this expected?
