Adding SCSI disks to Raid5 on hp DL380 running ESXi

Hi,

I'm running ESXi on a HP DL380 with SCSI Raid 5 with 3 disks, I'm wondring if someone can tall me if it is stright forward to

add two more disks to this configuration, without loosing data... ?

You've got two options, IMO:

1: Create a new RAID set using the 2 disks. Create a new VMFS volume.

2: Create a new RAID set, and add this as an extent to your existing VMFS volume.... (Not recommended)

You cant expand an existing VMFS volume, without using extents (which is similar to a software RAID 0)
