AMD VMotion Compatability between Opteron Processor 22xx and 23xx series processors

Hi,

I currently have a cluster consisting of Sun x4200 M2 hosts and wish to expand the cluster by one more host. Sadly the x4200 M2 has gone EOL so its no longer available. I was thinking about purchasing a Sun X2200 M2 but have concerns over the difference in processor series and VMotion compatability. If anyone has experience in mixing AMD 22xx and 23xx series processsor in the same cluster I would welcome some feed back. If its not possible I guess its time to start a new cluster, using VI 3.5 U6.

You'd need to set Opteron G1 EVC, assuming you're on 3.5 U2 or above:
