64 bit VMs

Hi,

This may sound noobish, but I am in hurry to set up a VM instance on ESXI for a demo. It's currently not allowing me to set up a 64bit VM. I am trying to install it on Intel Xeon 5410 2.33GHz processor in a Dell R300 server.

I am sure this processor supports VT extensions.

Does the free ESXI version, supports 64 bit VMs. If yes, what should be enabled/configured for the same.

Yes, ESXi allows you to create 64-bit VMs. In addition to needing a processor with VT extensions you also need to enable this in the BIOS. Once you enable it in the BIOS and save the configuration, power down the machine and remove power to it, then plug it back in and power it back up.

please make sure you got the VT enable from the bios level.
